Train-ing Day

By Jason Boog

As part of a new campaign, Farrar, Straus and Giroux has released a short video of subway passengers reading excerpts from John Wray’s new novel, Lowboy.

In a meta-fictional twist, the passengers all read a particular passage about a subway chase imagined by a sixteen-year-old paranoid schizophrenic. Oddly enough, the video also reveals how readers can join Wray for an in-train reading on Thursday, March 12 at 6:30 PM on the Brooklyn-bound L-train. The author will test his book on the hippest corner of the New York Subway system.

Here’s more from the release: “Lowboy, John Wray’s third novel, tells the story of Will’s fantastic and terrifying odyssey through the city’s tunnels, back alleys, and streets in search of Emily Wallace, his one great hope, and of Violet Heller’s desperate attempts to locate her son before psychosis claims him completely.”
