Owen Wilson Lands Role in the Wonder Movie

Owen Wilson 200 (GalleyCat)Owen Wilson has signed on to star in a film adaptation based on R.J. Palacio’s middle grade novel, Wonder. Lionsgate has set the theatrical release date for April 7, 2017.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Wilson (pictured, via) joins a cast that already includes Jacob Tremblay and Julia Roberts. Tremblay will play the lead character Auggie Pullman, Roberts will play his mother, and Wilson will play his father.

According to Variety, the story follows “August Pullman, who was born with facial differences that prevented him from going to a mainstream school earlier in life — and then became  an unlikely hero when he entered  the local fifth grade…Palacio’s book has sold more than 2 million copies since it was published in 2012 by Knopf Books for Young Readers.” (via Vulture)
