Jackie Collins, a prolific British author, has died. She (pictured, via) was 77 years old.
People reports that Collins devoted more than four decades to writing fiction. She published 33 books in her lifetime; most of them were novels and one was a cookbook.

Among the novels was ‘Hollywood Wives’ (1983), whose characters seemed to be thinly disguised and dismayingly flawed versions of real-life figures. From then on, her work came to symbolize the fictional re-creation of the lives of Hollywood’s handsome and haunted as they navigated an environment of raw ambition and ravenous hunger for success and sexual conquest.
