J.K. Rowling Declares Cursed Child to be the Final Harry Potter Story

J.K. Rowling NYC (GalleyCat)Over the weekend, the two-part Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play officially opened in London’s West End and the script book for this theatrical show was also released. J.K. Rowling has declared that this project, the eighth Harry Potter story, marks the conclusion of Harry Potter’s story.

According to RadioTimes, Rowling gave this statement during a press event: “[Harry] goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done. This is the next generation, you know. So, I’m thrilled to see it realised so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”

Vanity Fair reports that although this heroic character’s story may be finished, stories from the wizarding world will continue on with the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie trilogy, Rowling’s Pottermore essays, and Rowling’s magical habit of sharing new information with her fans on Twitter. The first Fantastic Beasts film, scripted by Rowling herself, will hit theaters on November 18. (via Reuters)
