TheSandman-BookofDreams_UnabridgedCD_1185501006.jpgNovelist Harlan Ellison is selling off scores of books from his extensive and rare science fiction collection–a three-day sale he called the Great Book Purge. Follow this link to read the book sale brochure.

i09 explored the goodies in a post, pointing out a few special rarities on the list: a first edition script for I, Robot, the script for The Outer Limits episode “Soldier,” and a personalized copy of a gift book from Neil Gaiman (complete with a personalized note).

The brochure includes the text of Gaiman’s dedication in The Sandman: Book of Dreams, a book both edited and inscribed by Gaiman: “For your birthday. 27 May 2002. Dear Harlan–Happy Birthday. Here’s a copy for you of the rarest edition of any book I was involved in–they pulped the print run before it could get to the shelves, after I pointed out that Stephen King wasn’t in here…your pal. Neil Gaiman.”
