Christopher Myers to Launch a New Imprint at Random House Children’s Books

Christopher Myers 200 (GalleyCat)Christopher Myers, a renowned children’s books author and illustrator, will launch his own imprint at Random House Children’s Books called Make Me a World. Jenny Brown, the publisher of Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, has signed on to manage this new division.

Here’s more from the press release: “The name Make Me a World reflects Myers’s vision: to publish a selection of books that open up new worlds, possibilities, and pathways for young readers of all ages. Myers is focused on bringing voices of diverse thinkers and artists from all walks of life to his list—including filmmakers, musicians, playwrights, painters, writers, astronomers, architects, and more, and individuals who have redrawn the boundaries of their own lives and forged new paths.”

The inaugural books from this imprint will be published in 2018. Some of the titles featured on the list include Child of the Universe by Ray Jayawardhana (a picture book), Mama Mable’s All-Gal Big Band Jazz Extravaganza! by Annie Sieg (a picture book), and Walk Toward the Rising Sun by Ger Duany (a memoir for young adult readers).
