Caitlin McKenna Wins Ashmead Award

194bec4Caitlin McKenna has won The Ashmead Award, the publishing prize given in honor of the late book editor Lawrence Peel “Larry” Ashmead, who passed away in 2010.

McKenna, an editor at Random House, is the sixth annual winner. She got into publishing as an assistant at Melanie Jackson Agency in 2009 and joined Random House in 2012. Here upcoming projects including: Known and Strange Things by Teju Cole, American Ulysses by Ronald C. White, The Tao of Bill Murray by Gavin Edwards, and The Animators by Kayla Rae Whitaker.

As part of her prize for the award, she gets to attend the Yale Publishing Course:  Leadership Strategies in Book Publishing in New Haven, CT next summer.
