The British Library Will Host a Harry Potter Exhibit

harrypotterThe British Library, a London-based institution, announced plans to host an exhibit on J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. According to BBC News, this program was organized to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone (known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone for American readers).

Here’s more from the announcement on Pottermore: “The exhibition will draw on the British Library’s own collections to showcase all sorts of thrilling treasures, exploring the history of magic all over the world and displays of wizarding books. It will also feature previously unseen material from Bloomsbury’s and J.K. Rowling’s archives, as well as a number of other sources.”

The New York Times reports that the opening date has been scheduled for October 20, 2017. The closing date has been set for February 28, 2018. (via The Guardian)
