Head over to the Greenlight Bookstore in Brooklyn tonight to hear Parker Posey, David Rakoff and Kara Walker talk about their early adventures in the city. Parker Posey has already proven to be quite good at doing this on the fly.

The event is for My First New York: Early Adventures in the Big City, the new HarperCollins title borne of a New York Magazine feature last year (and excerpted last month). In addition to the three speakers tonight, the book brings together stories from Ira Glass, Colum McCann and Amy Sedaris, among many others.

New York editor David Haskell and HarperCollins editor Matt Weiland will host the evening. A Q&A will follow; for some reason, they’re encouraging people to share some of their own New York stories then. (Mine? Fine: I sublet a dark loft above a wonton factory in Williamsburg and drank economy-sized bottles of Yuengling lager while watching Netflix movies on stolen wi-fi. Anyone care to commiserate?)
