We Hear: Staffing Changes at Resource/Ammirati

By Patrick Coffee

Today sources tell us that Resource/Ammirati–the product of a 2014 union between Ohio’s Resource and New York’s Ammirati–went through a round of staffing cuts last week after changes in several of its accounts.

In May, Procter & Gamble consolidated all of its razor brands with Grey in a move that saw Resource/Ammirati lose the Venus business; this was the latest in a series of shifts that began in 2013 when P&G sent Gillette to Grey, ending a more than 40-year relationship with BBDO. At the time, a P&G rep said that R/M would remain on its agency roster to work with other unnamed brands.

Beyond the Venus work, sources say that the agency’s relationships with Cutty Sark, Seagram’s and L Brands’ Bath and Body Works have also changed in recent months.

We hear that the number of staffers dismissed last week was approximately one dozen, though the agency itself had no comment and did not specify which offices had been affected.

Other major Resource/Ammirati accounts include Nestle, Sherwin-Williams, White Castle (which the agency won from Zimmerman last year) and Birchbox, for which it recently launched the “There’s a Better Way” campaign.

Representatives for Cutty, Seagram’s and Bath and Body Works could not be reached for comment.
