Ogilvy Getting Evicted?

By Kiran Aditham

According to The Real Deal, Hakimian Organization, the owner of Ogilvy’s new abode on 636 11th Ave in Manhattan’s West side, sent a notice December 9th giving the agency just days to cure five alleged non-monetary defaults or the landlord would move to terminate the lease. Ogilvy, which says it is not in default, filed its own suit last week to block the landlord’s effort to end the lease and claims Hakimian didn’t fully complete agreed-to improvements.

Ogilvy wouldn’t comment on the matter since the case is ongoing. But our sources vouch for Real Deal’s report that the agency apprised the owners of rent and damage issues prior to even signing the lease (which weren’t taken care of by the time of their May move-in), adding that Ogilvy is in fact not getting evicted. Stay tuned for further developments…
