Is Urban Outfitters’ Site Redesign for Real?

By Kiran Aditham

Holy 90’s flashback, Batman. Maybe Urban Outfitters is going a little overboard with the retro approach in its new site design, which uses fonts perhaps not seen since Saved by the Bell was on every Saturday and we were still rocking I.O.U. Here are a couple of screen grabs below, with the “Sale” section one being the biggest eyesore. On his blog, reader “mongoofy,” who tipped us on this, wonders if this is “a full-tilt response to the Gap logo guffaw.” We think it’s just the brand’s ironic hipsterdom at play and would’ve much preferred that the chain just stuck to the classier look of its blog, which you can see after the jump.
