72andSunny Showcases Art From Legendary W+K Adman

By Kiran Aditham

Ever since he left advertising and survived leukemia, Jim Riswold, the former W+K creative director behind the Mars Blackmon and “Bo Knows” Nike campaigns among others, has found a second career as a full-time contemporary artist.

Recently, L.A.-based 72andSunny showcased some of Riswold’s peculiar work at the “Ham Sandwich & Mao & Other Items” exhibit at the agency’s gallery space. Among the art on display included “Kim Jong Il Is a Sucker” (above) and “Will You Be My Valentine Chairman Mao” (below). While we certainly take heed with the fact that revelers celebrated the Game 7 Lakers win, the event raised $5,000 for Frederick Douglas Academy Elementary School and the Inner City Education Foundation, so bravo for that.
