Keith Esparros has been hired as executive news director of New Orleans CBS affiliate WWL.
Esparros worked as news director at New Orleans WVUE from 1997 until 2004.
“Keith’s experience, coupled with his New Orleans and WWL-TV roots, make him the perfect choice to lead our news team into the future,” said Tod Smith, WWL president and gm. “He brings a track record of innovation and success and most importantly, a sense of what it takes to tell the stories that matter most to South Louisiana.”
According to the Times-Picayune, Esparros started at WWL answering phones, before working his way up to executive producer. He last worked at KNBC as senior manager of the investigative unit. Before that, he was the assistant news director there for eight years. He’s also worked at KNSD in San Diego and KTTV and KCAL in Los Angeles.
He starts June 15.
