WTTG Gets its Daily Llama, Get It? It’s a Pun. About Llamas.

Now that they’re the sweethearts of social media, llamas are showing up all over, or at least at one FOX owned station.

WTTG in Washington, D.C. hopped on the llama train and had two in the studio to help meteorologist John Tucker with his forecast. Tucker then walked them around the neighborhood, maybe hoping they would escape and run about.

Dolly (get it?) is a 3-year-old miniature llama, and his buddy Raindance, a 2-year-old alpaca, made the trip from their home at Squeals on Wheels to visit the FOX 5 studios. Dolly and Raindance– both males– spend their time at Squeals on Wheels as part of the petting zoo, traveling to children’s birthday parties and other events.

The WTTG llamas’ handlers had some advice on how any llama handler can avoid a repeat of yesterday’s llama drama. They said the two in Phoenix were just scared.  Jill (one of the handlers) added, “[…] if their wranglers had just gotten a bucket of feed, or even brought in a third llama, they would have formed a herd and calmed down.”
