WTIC Hartford Promotes Dana Rosengard to News Director

Dana Rosengard, Ph.D., has been named news director of Hartford, Conn., Fox station WTIC.

This is a promotion for Rosengard, who was the assistant news director at the station since September 2022. He will oversee the newsgathering operations of WTIC News and all related digital, mobile, and social media applications.

“I am excited to become News Director here at FOX61 and lead a dedicated news team in covering what’s important to our viewers,” said Rosengard. “We are committed to telling stories of impact across Connecticut and to provide solid coverage during our more than 60 hours of live newscasts per week and on our growing digital platforms.”

Rosengard’s experience includes being a producer, reporter, and news anchor in Greenville, Miss., Columbus, Ohio, Providence R.I., Burlington, Vt., and Boston.

He has a B.A. in communications from the University of New Hampshire, an M.S. in broadcast journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Rosengard served as a college professor for more than 20 years, leading award-winning student newscasts at Lyndon State College in Vermont, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The University of Oklahoma, and Suffolk University in Boston.

“Dana’s experience and journalistic skills have had a positive impact on our news product since his arrival last year,” said Humberto Hormaza, president and general manager of FOX61/CW20. “I am confident he will continue to provide that leadership in his new role leading Connecticut’s News Station.”
