WTHR Morning Anchor Carlos Diaz Leaving TV News and Moving to Florida

By Kevin Eck

WTHR morning anchor Carlos Diaz said he is leaving the Indianapolis NBC affiliate and moving to Florida.

“My wife and I have been discussing this permanent move to Florida for several months, both with her extended family and my extended family already living there,” said Diaz. “We have prayed on this for weeks, and we 100% believe this is best for our family.”

Diaz said he is getting out of local news. On Facebook, he posted three reasons for the move: To be closer to family after his father died last year, to allow his wife to further her career working for The Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour and to give his son the opportunity to build on his early success in golf to play year-round.

Diaz joined WTHR in August 2016 as a reporter and was promoted to anchor in 2020.

His last day will be Thursday, December 8.
