Dave Holmes is joining Columbus, Ohio ABC affiliate WSYX and Fox affiliate WTTE as sports director.
“Dave is a trusted source for local sports,” said news director Nicole Hogensen. “We are thrilled that he will be joining our team.”
Holmes spent nine years with Columbus CBS affiliate WBNS as a sports anchor.
“At this point in my career, the two most important things for me are culture and creative freedom,” Holmes said. “I believe no other station in the country can deliver on those two elements like ABC 6.”
“Dave has a great reputation in Central Ohio, among players, coaches, and fans for the work he has done covering sports at all levels,” general manager Tony D’Angelo said. “I am confident Dave will be a tremendous asset to our news operation and will help lead The Football Fever for many seasons to come.”
Holmes is scheduled to debut on May 8.
