WSMV in Nashville is expanding its weekend morning newscasts. Beginning January 25, the NBC affiliate will begin the Saturday and Sunday morning broadcasts at 5 a.m. instead of 6 a.m.
“We’re excited to provide more of what viewers told us they want on weekend mornings — breaking news from overnight, 4WARN weather, and ideas to help plan the weekend,” WSMV director of news and creative services Matthew Hilk said in a statement.
The current weekend morning team — anchor Alan Frio and meteorologist Nancy Van Camp — will helm the expanded broadcast.
