WSB Welcomes New Traffic Anchor

By Kevin Eck

Heather Catlin has joined Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB as a morning traffic anchor.

She replaces Mark Arum, who is leaving to focus on his afternoon radio show on 95.5 WSB.

WSB news director Suzanne Nadell said  Catlin grew up in Atlanta and knows the local roads and traffic hot spots.

“It takes a special person to keep Georgians ahead of all the construction, crashes and traffic jams all over town,” said Nadell.

Catlin, who joined Fred Blankenship, Lori Wilson, Linda Stouffer and meteorologist Brian Monahan this morning, will be live weekdays 4:30 to 7 a.m.

Catlin is no stranger to WSB viewers. She’s been a regular contributor to the morning news bringing viewers good news stories, entertainment stories and other local content during the week. She’s also hosted Hot Topics, a syndicated entertainment show and co-hosted Bulldogs Game Day, a weekly sports special produced in partnership with the University of Georgia.

“I’m so excited to join the Channel 2 Action News morning team in this new role. It’s an incredible honor,” said Catlin. “My goal is to make sure Georgians are prepared to get where they’re going on time and know what to expect on the drive home.”

“This is a truly a bittersweet day,” said Arum. “It’s been such an honor to help Atlanta get to work and school every morning for the past 20 plus years. In a perfect world I would be able to continue to work both mornings and afternoons, but physically and mentally, it’s just not possible anymore. People already know and love Heather! Powered by Triple Team Traffic, I’m confident that commuters will be in great hands after I leave.”
