WSAV chief meteorologist Kris Allred is leaving the Savannah NBC station.
“It was supposed to be short term and now is long term,” she told The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette. Allred also said she is heading back to where she was raised and won’t be working for a television station after the move, “at least not right away.”
Allred has worked at the station since 2007. She was the first female chief of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry and now serves as the longest-serving chief in WSAV history.
“Besides helping my family, I don’t really have a plan,” she said. “And for the first time in my adult life, I don’t have a plan. And even though it is a little scary, I’m OK with it.”
