WREG chief meteorologist Tim Simpson has announced that he is leaving the Memphis CBS affiliate after 29 years.
Simpson is heading to South Carolina to be closer to family.
“We will miss Tim’s kindness, humor, expertise, and leadership,” the station said on its website, “We thank Tim for his years of service at WREG!”

The station also announced that Tyler Eliasen will take over for Simpson. Eliasen has been a meteorologist at Tampa Fox station WTVT since 2017.
