It’s a long climb from unpaid intern in Manchester to network morning anchor in Manhattan, but those who know former WMUR sports reporter Chris Wragge aren’t surprised he’s found his way to the top.
On Tuesday, Wragge was named the new male anchor for “The Early Show” on CBS, replacing Harry Smith effective Jan. 3. Wragge will be joined by female anchor Erica Hill, news anchor Jeff Glor and weather anchor Marysol Castro.

“Like anything else, I’ll give it my best shot, and hope for the best,” Wragge said Wednesday.
Wragge got his start working for WMUR, Channel 9, in Manchester in 1994. More…
