WPIX Hires Former WABC Assistant News Director to Oversee Morning Show

WPIX, the Tribune station in New York, has hired a new morning executive producer from Washington, D.C.

And this isn’t his first rodeo in the Big Apple.

Thomas Tobin has been named the senior executive producer for PIX 11 morning news. He will be responsible for strategy and content on all platforms.

“Thomas is a seasoned and award-winning news manager with experience leading local news teams at top rated stations in New York and Washington, D.C. I am confident PIX11’s Morning News will continue on its path of growth under Thomas’ leadership,” said Vickie Burns, the vice president of news and content.

Prior to his time in D.C., Thomas as a freelance weekend manager and producer at PIX11. He also once served as anassistant news director at WABC in New York.

“I am thrilled to be joining the award-winning newsroom at PIX11,” said Tobin. “I look forward to building on the already established foundation of excellence to bring this team to even greater success.”

He starts May 13.
