Grand Rapids, Mich. NBC affiliate WOOD has hired Teresa Weakley as morning co-anchor.
Weakley joined Casey Jones and meteorologists Terri DeBoer and Matt Kirkwood on the morning newscast today. She came from WIVB in Buffalo, N.Y.
The station is also adding reporter Tom Hillen as a dedicated traffic reporter and has added another anchor to its Noon show. Hillen started at WOOD as an editor and photojournalist in 2010.
Emily Linnert will join Susan Shaw and meteorologist Matt Kirkwood at Noon.
“Viewers will also notice new graphics on the newscasts and technology upgrades in the Storm Team 8 Tracking Center,” reports the station. “In addition, the set’s video wall has expanded to a whopping width of 24 feet to better showcase breaking news and severe weather.
