WJLA, the local ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C., is hosting a second live virtual town hall to discuss the state of race relations in the country.
The town hall, titled The Racial Divide: Time for Change, will air Tuesday at 7 p.m. on WJLA’s sister cable station, WJLA 24/7.
ABC7 anchors Jonathan Elias and Michelle Marsh will moderate the one-hour virtual panel discussion, and viewers will have the chance to submit questions. It’s the second installment of the series, the first of which was held on June 9.
The station has assembled a diverse lineup for the town hall. Panelists include:
- Pastor Keith Battle, senior pastor at Zion Church
- Rizwan Jaka, chair of the board of ADAMS
- Rabbi Bruce Lustig, senior rabbi at Washington Hebrew Congregation
- Kiran Kaur Gill, executive director of SALDEF
- Dr. Bergina Isbell, psychiatrist and founder of Led Life Psychiatry
- Dr. Eric De Jonge, chief of geriatrics at Capital Caring Health
“We’re glad we can bring these influencers together in a virtual forum to collaborate ways we can thoroughly discuss and confront these issues impacting our communities and congregations,” said Michael Miller, ABC7’s vice president and general manager.
The town hall will also stream digitally on wjla.com.
