The new ABC affiliate in Johnson City, Tenn., has hired Ann Carter to anchor its newscast starting Monday, Feb. 1.
Carter comes from the local NBC affiliate WCYB.
“We are thrilled Ann has joined our News Channel 11 team of award-winning journalists to build the new ABC Tri-Cities,” said Dan Cates, vp and gm of WJHL. “Her experience, popularity with viewers, and quality journalism will build on the strong commitment we will continue to have with CBS and help make our new ABC launch successful.”

WJHL announced early this month it was launching a new ABC affiliate for the market on digital sub channel 11.2 of CBS affiliate WJHL.
