Last night, when WTMJ reporter Charles Benson asked Rep. Glenn Grothman about the chances of a Republican winning the state in the general election, Grothman said he thought the GOP has a strong chance to beat Hillary Clinton and added, “and now we have photo ID, and I think photo ID is going to make a little bit of a difference as well.”
A station tweet about the story has been retweeted more than 500 times so far. The story has been picked up by other local stations and CNN.
Voter identification laws are seen by some as attempts to suppress certain segments of the population from voting. Others think they prevent voter fraud.
