WINK, the CBS-affiliate in Fort Myers, has launched a 24-hour news network on a digital subchannel.

According to the News-Press, the channel “includes a steady stream of weather graphics, news updates and repeats of recent WINK newscasts.”

Former WINK anchor Jim McLaughlin will anchor the news updates on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. His new role on the 24-hour channel will be in addition to his radio duties.

The channel is currently broadcasting on channel 11.2 in the Fort Myers market. It will be available on Comcast cable starting next month.
