By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

WGHP, the Tribune owned Fox affiliate in Greensboro, North Carolina, is hosting a one day 13 hour phone bank to raise money for areas that suffered major damage during recent severe weather.

“Our friends and neighbors are hurting and the Salvation Army is well-equipped to help in these situations. We encourage everyone to donate and help in any way they can.” said general manager, Jim Himes.

The local salvation army, Fox8 employees and community members will run the telethon that started at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

All the money raised will be disturbed to local families through the Salvation Army. The weekend storms are responsible for one confirmed death in Greensboro and has left tens of thousands without power.
