By Kevin Eck

When WFMY chief meteorologist Grant Gilmore (pictured left) moves to TEGNA’s Tampa-St. Petersburg station WTSP, Tim Buckley (pictured right) will take his place.

Gilmore is moving to the larger market to be the CBS affiliate’s morning meteorologist. He’s worked at WFMY since 2009.

“I’m flattered, excited and thankful,” said Gilmore. “WTSP is a great opportunity, while WFMY and the Piedmont Triad have been such a wonderful home for Liz and me.”

Gilmore is married to WFMY sportscaster Liz Crawford who will report for WTSP. “We first met at WFMY and it’s truly part of our family”, said Crawford.

Buckley has worked at the TEGNA-owned Greensboro, N.C. CBS affiliate since 2014.

“It’s a high honor to lead the WFMY News 2 weather team and serve folks important information every day,” said Buckley.
