WOWK anchor Pat Simon is leaving Charleston, W.Va., after three years to be closer to family in Alabama at WAAY.
Simon is the station’s 5, 6, 7 and 11 p.m. anchor. His co-anchor Jen Abney posted a goodbye note on social media calling him a talented journalist.
“4 the past 3 years I’ve had the honor of anchoring beside @PatSimonNews a talented journalist, humble veteran & dear friend. 2day we celebrate him & tell him bon voyage! 😢 He is ‘changing channels’ 2 b closer 2 family. Wishing him the best on his new adventures in Huntsville, AL.”
Simon anchored his final newscast on July 26.
