WESH is Next Step in Anchor’s Unconventional Career Path

WESH-TV, Orlando’s NBC affiliate announced on Monday that Jason Guy would be joining their news team as a weekday morning anchor.

In making the announcement, WESH News Director Bob Longo said, “Jason is going to be a great addition to the Sunrise team.”

Guy comes to Orlando from WRIC in Richmond, Virginia–the most recent stop in what has been an unorthodox career path. Viewers may recognize Guy from the third season of CBS’s popular reality show “Big Brother” as he proved to be an able contestant on the show, making it down to the final three. After “Big Brother,” Guy worked in casting for other reality shows, including NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” and CBS’s “The Amazing Race.”

Before Guy’s stint in reality TV, he was a prodigious local journalist in Mobile, Alabama. At 18, he hosted a weekly teen program on the city’s Fox affiliate in addition to hosting a highly rated morning radio show on WBHY-FM. Right now, Guy is looking forward to joining the WESH team: “I’ve approached every stage of my career with enthusiasm and passion, and this new opportunity is no exception,” he said.
