As WCTI Recovers From Hurricane Florence, It Uses Temporary Trailers to Produce Nightly News

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

WCTI, the Sinclair station in New Bern, is still going strong despite the fact that the newsroom has been completely unusable since Hurricane Florence.

The station has continued to put out newscasts every night using two trailers in the station parking lot.

“The dedicated and resilient WCTI crew continues to do phenomenal work as the restoration period in the Carolinas begins,” said general manager Matt Bowen.

You might remember WCTI meteorologists had to be evacuated during a live broadcast as Hurricane Florence made landfall. The station suffered severe water damage in the studio and newsroom. It is currently being repaired.
