WCPO-TV in Cincinnati Builds Tower to Improve Weak Digital Signal

Three weeks after analog transmission ended, WCPO, ABC 9 in Cincinnati, has taken down their analog antenna. A new digital antenna was installed atop Channel 9s 900-foot tower Tuesday in an effort to fortify WCPO’s weak digital signal. Since the digital switch, the station has received hundreds of complaints from viewers who have had trouble getting a clear digital signal.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, WCPO had been using a temporary digital antenna about 150 feet from the top of the tower, which does not project a digital signal as well as other Cincinnati-based TV stations.
