Maurice DuBois was a guest on CBSN Live talking about what it was like to have Bell’s Palsy, which causes weakness or paralysis on one side of your face.

“I’ve never been this happy to be at work,” said DuBois who was being interviewed by his WCBS co-anchor Kristine Johnson and Vladimir Duthiers.

DuBois said he got home from vacation and tried taking a selfie with his kids, when he noticed he couldn’t smile. He said a neurologist diagnosed Bell’s Palsy after a series of tests.

“You see sort of the good, the bad and the ugly,” said DuBois. “You look at yourself and see a pretty hideous representation of yourself. It’s disturbing. Frozen face. You can’t move.” DuBois also said there’s really no cure for it, “you just wait it out.”
