WCAX Reporter and Producer One of Thousands Stuck at Burning Man

WCAX reporter and producer Laura Ullman is among the tens of thousands who were stranded in Black Rock City for the annual Burning Man festival.

Ullman was hired to work as a lighting technician for Burning Man.

Festival goers began leaving today, after days of torrential rain turned the venue to mud and left tens of thousands of people stranded in remote northwest Nevada.

She told the Burlington, Vt., CBS affiliate that most of her stuff was ruined by the flooding and mud, but she is safe and OK.

“I’m seeing just people banding together through community and how heartening that is to see people coming together and working together to make sure everyone is safe and has what they need,” she said.

Ullman said she hopes to be back to work at WCAX on Thursday.
