WBTV Reporter Accepts Apology of Man Who Called Him ‘N’ Word

WBTV reporter Steve Crump says he accepts the apology of Brian Eybers.

Eybers was sentenced to seven days of house arrest and had to enroll in a drug treatment program after being arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a crack pipe after a confrontation here he used racial slurs against Crump and tried to stop his from driving away. The apology came while he was in court.

The confrontation was recorded on video by WBTV photographer Devin Futrelle while the two were in Charleston, S.C. reporting about Hurricane Matthew.
