Liz Palka is leaving WAVY in Hampton Roads to get married.
“My last day at WAVY is next week,” Palka said on Facebook. “As many of you know, I met my fiance here in Hampton Roads and we’ll be married in just a few weeks. That means I’ll have two roles to play: reporter and Navy wife.”
She started working at the NBC affiliate in 2011. She began her career at in Charlottesville, Va. before working at WFMY in Greensboro, N.C.

“Palka said she’s sad to leave,” reports the Virginian-Pilot. “But is comforted knowing that the Navy also could bring her back to Hampton Roads someday.
