WABC Reporter Gets Into Scuffle After Being Grabbed

WABC reporter CeFaan Kim was introducing a package in a live shot Friday night about an attempted rape in the Lower East Side of Manhattan when he was grabbed by a man in a hockey mask.

The ABC-owned station cut to Kim’s package early to get off the shot after the man put his arm around Kim, then started talking to the camera.

After the package ran, anchor Bill Ritter told viewers Kim was OK, which Kim reinforced by telling people on his Facebook page he suffered “just a scrape and a bruise.”

In video posted to twitter, Kim, who is a former Sergeant in the Army Reserve, was seen pushing the man away, then getting pushed to the ground by the man who was without his mask.

The guy got way, but not before claiming Kim was the aggressor.

“Thank you to everyone who was concerned about my well being,” said Kim. “Guy totally snuck up on me. He wouldn’t get off me so I shoved him off and then he pushed me to the ground. Thank you to my crew and the random stranger who kept us separated and calmed me down in the heat of the moment… because I’m not gonna lie… when someone puts their hands on you, it’s hard not to get amped up.”
