Veteran Meteorologist Dennis Bowman Retiring

bowman-dennis1Pittsburgh CBS-owned station KDKA has announced that its morning and noon meteorologist, Dennis Bowman, will be retiring this year. Bowman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that by his own count, he’s made “more than 66,600 weather predictions” over his 43-year career.

“Dennis is a great mix of scientist and on-air personality, which combined with his great voice have made him a valuable member of our team,” said KDKA general manager Christopher Pike. “We will be very sorry to see him go.”

Bowman joined KDKA in 2005 after 16 years at Pittsburgh NBC affiliate WPXI.

Bowman’s last day is April 17. The station has yet to name is replacement.
