Veteran Cincinnati Anchor to Leave Station

By Kevin Eck

Longtime Cincinnati anchor Rob Braun is leaving CBS affiliate WKRC.

Station GM Jon Lawhead told “in a brief phone conversation that Braun will depart from WKRC at the end of June.”

He started at the station as a weekend anchor in 1985. Before that, he worked at WBIR in Knoxville, Tenn.

John Kiesewetter gave some context to the changes on-air at WKRC on Cincinnati Public Radio station WVXU’s website.

Braun’s departure is the seventh high-profile newsroom staffer to leave Channel 12 news in the past 18 months. Veteran reporters Deb Dixon, Joe Webb, Jeff Hirsh and Larry Davis retired; news anchor Brad Johansen went to Raleigh, N.C.; meteorologist Brandon Orr went to Florida; and sports reporter Aly Cohen was not renewed.

TVSpy asked Braun for comment. We’ll update when we hear back.
