Jim Connors, sports director for Time Warner Cable News in Raleigh, NC. has died. He was 51.
TWC News reports Connors died after a short and sudden illness.
Before joining TWC in 2002, he had worked in Winston-Salem and New Bern, N.C. He’s also worked in Bluefiled, W.V. and Billings, Montana.
“Having worked every night with Jim, my heart aches for his family,” said Mike Solarte, director of TWC Sports Charlotte. “Jim was the consummate pro, and it was an honor to work alongside him. Our product will not be the same without him, but his influence will never fade. I lost a colleague on Saturday, but more than that, I lost a friend. My heartfelt condolences to the Raleigh newsroom, but more so to Jim’s family.”

Just heard a good friend passed away. Jim Connors rest in peace. Have worked with him in two markets. Always was willing to help. Sad day.
