Therese Gamba Named Senior Vice President of Marketing at NBC O&Os

Therese Gamba, a former vice president of programming for both KABC in Los Angeles and KGO in San Francisco, has been named senior vice president of marketing for the 10 NBC-owned stations, NBC announced today.

Gamba, who was most recently a media consultant in California, will develop brand strategies for the NBC O&Os. She will report to Valari Staab, president of the NBC-owned stations, and will work with the entire NBCUniversal team to coordinate promotional campaigns and marketing efforts.

“Throughout her career, she’s been highly successful in strengthening brands and attracting audiences,” Staab said of Gamba. “I welcome her to our team and am confident she’ll be an effective partner for our stations as they work to enhance their position in their respective markets.”

THERESE GAMBA NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING AT NBC OWNED TELEVISION STATIONS
New York, NY – (August 23, 2011) – Therese A. Gamba has been named Senior Vice President of Marketing for the NBC Owned Television Stations. Gamba will report to Valari Staab, President of the NBC Owned Stations, and serve as an in-house consultant to the company’s 10 stations as they define and develop their unique brand strategies. She will also coordinate broader NBCUniversal promotional campaigns and marketing efforts on behalf of the division.

Gamba has nearly 20 years of television industry experience, primarily in senior marketing and brand building roles. Most recently, she worked as a consultant specializing in marketing and media strategy for a wide array of clients, including Warner Brothers Domestic Television Distribution. Before that, Gamba spent seven years at the ABC Owned Television Stations, including KABC-TV in Los Angeles as Vice President of Programming, Advertising and Promotion and KGO-TV in San Francisco as Vice President of Programming and Station Marketing. Both are market leading stations.

Gamba also worked at Viacom for four years, as Vice President of Marketing for TNN: The National Network (currently known as Spike), where she was part of the team that rebranded and relaunched the channel, and Vice President of Marketing of Worldvision Enterprises, where she led marketing efforts for all first-run and off-network programming, including Judge Judy. Previously, she was at Columbia Tristar Television Distribution creating campaigns for both first-run and off-network shows, including Mad About You. Gamba was also a Marketing and Advertising Consultant for Frank N. Magid Associates, where she consulted for local television stations across the country. She began her career in the industry in her native San Francisco, working at local radio and television stations.

Gamba holds a B.A. in Communications and Government from St. Mary’s College in California and a M.A. in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University. She is in the process of relocating to New York.
