Texas Anchor Gets Emotional Reporting On Mass Shooting

By Kevin Eck

KBTX anchor Karla Castillo got emotional while reporting on a shooting at a local business with close ties to the Bryan, Texas CBS affiliate.

“Behind this wall is the Kent Moore digital studio,” Castillo said during the 6:00 p.m. newscast reporting on the shooting. “Those men and women who worked at Kent Moore cabinets created the space we work in. You are our friends and family and neighbors.”

One person died and four others were injured in the shooting. An employee, who is a suspect, has been charged with murder.

Castillo went on to tell viewers the station would keep them updated on any new developments in the case “because we care about you. We care about what’s happening here. As you can tell, we’re grieving with you as well.”
