Reporter Mayra Aguilar has been promoted to co-anchor of Noticias Telemundo Nuevo México (KASA).
Aguilar, who has been a reporter with the station since 2017, will join co-anchor Alejandro Contreras and reporters Sergio Guerrero and Jaime Prieto beginning on Thursday.
“We are thrilled to have Mayra join our news team,” said Tony Canales, president and gm of Telemundo Nuevo México. “We are confident that her journalistic experience combined with her passion for the issues that affect the New Mexico community will be a great asset for our station.”

Aguilar has been recognized by the New Mexico Press Association for her reporting on the Latino community and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in New Mexico.
