Telemundo 47 has named a new vice president of news.
Effective immediately, Endy Rodriquez will lead day to day operations within the newsroom and begin to expand the station’s partnership with its sister station, WNBC, on joint investigative and consumer news stories.
“I could not be more excited to make this announcement. Endy Rodriguez rose through the ranks with hard work, journalistic excellence and a deep commitment to the Spanish-speaking communities our station proudly serves. He also leads by example and has earned the respect of his colleagues within the newsroom – and beyond,” said Cristina Schwarz, the station’s president and general manager.
Rodriquez is a 15 year veteran of Telemundo 47, he started as an intern in 2001.
“This is an incredible honor and I could not be more humbled by this announcement. The Telemundo 47 news team is my second family. Together, we share a deep passion for serving our viewers and their families throughout the Tri-State region while delivering the most comprehensive news, weather and community information that they count on,” he said.
Rodriguez is a life-long New York resident. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
