
Richard Washington III has been named news director of Hartford, Conn. stations WTIC–WCCT.
Washington comes to the Fox and CW affiliates from Tegna station WCNC in Charlotte, N.C., where he was assistant news director.
“The pandemic has presented once in a lifetime challenges to journalists everywhere for more than a year,” Washington said. “FOX61 News has met those challenges in an extraordinary manner, and I look forward to working with the talented staff in continuing to serve the people of Connecticut.”

Before working at WCNC, he was executive producer at WCAU Philadelphia and also WBAL Baltimore. He’s also worked as producer at WTTG in Washington, D.C., WAGA in Atlanta and WWBT Richmond, Va.
Washington starts June 14.
