Technical Issue Cuts 24 Minutes from KARE Newscast

By Kevin Eck

Minneapolis NBC affiliate KARE had some technical difficulties last night that affected its 6 p.m. newscast.

The station captured the anchor’s point of view on Facebook Live about the time the station was coming back to life. (see below)

At the top of the hour, viewers were treated to a ticker over black, then a Nightly News countdown and a repeat of the national broadcast for nearly five minutes until the signal alternated between a “technical difficulties” slate and attempts at doing a newscast.

Once all the issues had been settled, anchors Julie Nelson and Randy Shaver told viewers the station “had to reboot Master Control.”
