WFTS anchor Wendy Ryan is using a recent health scare as a cautionary tale for viewers.
Ryan was recently released from the hospital after fighting a staph infection above her eye. We did a story about Ryan sharing the progression of the infection on social media.

“If I had waited just a few hours, it could have traveled behind my eye, and I easily could have lost my eye,” Ryan told the Tampa ABC affiliate.
“We found out later she could have died, and it’s crazy,” Ryan’s husband, Jerome Ritchey said. “She could have died of a pimple because of you know everything that happened.”
“If you know something’s wrong, don’t wait, get to the doctor, get to the ER because it could be your life,” said Ryan.
